Santa Paws Donations 2015
November sees the start of our annual Santa Paws Appeal
WHILE many dogs and cats will be in the warm comfort of home this Christmas, we are launching our appeal again this year to make sure the ones without a home feel the Christmas spirit too.
Animal charities tell us: “Christmas is always a sad time of year – more dogs are brought in during this time and it can be difficult re-homing them, not least because families have little money left at this year to take on the responsibility and cost of a new pet. All rescue homes/ charities are completely reliant on the generosity of the public to feed homeless dogs and cats 365 days a year and that amounts to enormous quantities of food that have to be found.
Your gifts will make a huge difference and the simple act of popping a bag of dry or a tin of wet food into the donation bin not only directly translates to food in the bowls of the many lost or abandoned animal in care, but also helps the rescue homes direct vital funds towards other crucial programs and services such as neutering, micro-chipping and training, all vital components when giving an animal the best chance for a new start with a loving family.
The following items are always very welcome:
- Cat litter
- Kitten/cat food
- Dog food
- Dog coats
- Dog leads
- Toys and various other comforts such as beds and fleecy blankets
Donations can be dropped off at Wangford Veterinary Clinic at any time throughout November and December. We are open every day (except Sundays) from 8.30am until 6pm, Saturday’s 8.30am until midday. Alternatively donations can be dropped off at our Santa Paws Roadshow Beccles Town Centre Saturday 14th November 10am – 2pm or Halesworth Town Centre Saturday 5th December 10am -2pm.
Some people may wish to make a donation of money instead and whilst we know that money can’t buy this love, it can really help this can help to provide the things that our dogs have on their Christmas wish list. Cheques should be made out to Wangford Veterinary Clinic (Santa Paws) and sent to us at Wangford Veterinary Clinic, Pound Corner, Wangford, Beccles Suffolk, NR34 8RS.
